Welcome to Frodsham Manor House Primary School.
You may be visiting this page if you are new to the area, have a child who would be a "new starter" in our Early Years setting or looking to move your child here. In order for our school to be Covid Secure we are sadly unable to give our normal school tours or host our open days. As such we hope that this page will give you a bit of a taster before looking around the rest of the website. You can also keep in touch by following our Twitter account on @FrodManor. You are however, welcome to ring our school office and arrange an after school chat with Mr Devereux-Roberts our Head Teacher or another member of the Senior Leadership Team. These tours will just be for your own family and happen at 3.45pm once the majority of school pupils and families have left the site. You are also welcome to contact us for a full prospectus. Please note we can only offer these sessions when allowed to do so according to local and national restrictions.
Also onsite is an independent preschool who we work closely with called Applebees and we have full wrap around care with Fun House Link Club.
We believe that our school is unique in what we offer to develop the individual child. Do have a read of our school vision which can be accessed here.
Do watch our school video tour below. This film is lead by our pupils with all classes involved and was edited in-house. We hope that it will give you a flavour of our school.
Mental Health
Your child's wellbeing is important to us and we have a range of mental health strategies which are used on a regular basis for all children as well as those needing a little extra support. Children follow a scheme called "My Happy Mind" and learn breathing and calming techniques. "Agents of Hope" helps us to unpack our emotions. The Daily Mile gives us some much needed time out as well as some exercise. Cosmic Yoga is popular with our younger classes. We have Talking Partners, Art Therapy, Music Therapy and Emotional Literacy Support which can be individual or small groups.
You might see our "No Outsiders" plaque outside school as part of these lessons we develop our own sense of belonging and uniqueness as well as learning to respect all those around us. This also teaches us about the Equality Act.
We also celebrate all our positive character traits and our hard work through "Spreading the Happiness" days, Hot Chocolate Fridays for showing kindness, Celebration Assemblies, Stars of the week, Top Table guests and other opportunities.
All staff have completed a level 2 certificate in the mental health and wellbeing of young people and have a Mental Health First Aider.
School Events
We love making our school an exciting place to be and our events are part of this. We have theme week and theme days linked to the curriculum, charitable fundraisers and events to just help us enjoy life that much more. We also rather like putting on a show including class assemblies, talent shows, Stars in their Eyes, a Nativity and an annual musical extravaganza for Key Stage Two. Have a look at some samples of our events by using the drop down menu from the events bar above.
Residential Visits
In normal times we have a range of residentials on offer which the majority of pupils take part in with some financial support for those who need it. We start with a whole school sleepover where all ages are invited to come to school overnight for a taster of being away from home. In Year 2 we have a topic about the seaside so go for two nights to Llandudno. Year 5 have an outward bound experience at the Conway Centre in Anglesey. Year 6 experience a jam packed tour of London for three days. We also have a bi-annual visit for years 5 and 6 to France and Belgium for a 4 night experience.
We also have people come to stay with us and host teachers and children from our partnership schools in India and Ghana.
This short clip is all pupil voice videos about what they like about the school with all classes represented. The children decided on their own answers.
Here you can find a collection of photos from our current Reception Class below.
Extra-Curricular
We have a wide range of extra curricular provision (clubs) which change termly. Last year our clubs included Cookery, Baking, Science, Gardening, Forest School, Choir, Inventors, Stamp Collecting, Film Club, Football, Hockey, Rounders, Multi-Sports, Art, Cross Stitch, Street Dance, Dodge Ball, Lego, Library, Digital. We also offer individual music tuition through Music for Life.
Staff
We don't have a video of all the staff other than this one which was made to say goodbye to our wonderful Year Sixes during our Lockdown Leavers' Assembly. It includes a goodbye from our Chair of Governors, Adam Kilborn. We hope it shows you an example of the strong relationships forged between staff and pupils at Frodsham Manor House.
You can find out more about our staff here.
This clip was to show our current families how the children were getting on in our September 2020 layout. As you can probably tell, our school looks rather different now to how we normally like it but we all still love to learn, play and work here.
As part of our virtual open day we asked families to send in what they would like to tell prospective parents.
Track Twitter back to November 5th 2020 to see the day in action.
"What did we want most from a school when we were making choices? One that would encourage our son to appreciate the world and everyone in it. One that celebrates the individual and encourages them to be the best they can be. One that teaches kindness by example. Tick."
