This week (14th- 19th July) we celebrated the school site's 50th anniversary. We are now named Frodsham Manor House Primary but previously there were two schools, Orchard House (now St Luke's School) was the infant school and the current site was Manor Junior School. We have had a really busy week to celebrate and have enjoyed working with different pupils, present and past staff and taking part in special events.
Monday - Years 2,3,4 and 5 participated in musical theatre workshops led by Allan and Rosie from the Liverpool Empire Theatre on the theme of 'Joseph and the amazing technicolour dreamcoat'.
Tuesday - Open Day and also a swop a round. There were a dozen different activities happening around school and each child participated in four of them during the day. These included rocket building, film making, treasure hunt, cross stitch, school disco dance crazes, forest school, interviewing past pupils and staff, moving pictures and many others. There were also many displays around school using lots of old photos.
Wednesday - We held our tradtiional Music for Life Instrumental Concert which gives our instrumentalists a chance to perfrom a solo or group piece for their families. Led by Bev Greenwood and Stuart Williams.
Thursday - We enjoyed a beautiful day in Castle Park where we had a picnic and ice lollies.
Friday - We held a special assembly in the morning which was attended by past members of staff where we shared the history of the school and showcased our fabulous singing. We then went outside for Councillor Allen Wales (Mayor of Frodsham) to unveil our new Wishing Well. In the afternoon there was a Bible Explorer assembly. In the evening we had over 200 people on site for a ceilidh and hog roast, 92 of these then camped on the school field (through the thunderstorm) and survivors were treated to bacon butties on Saturday Morning.
